Quakers of New Garden by Claire Sanders, Ann E. Schrock, Jennifer Hudson Taylor, Susette Williams

Summary:
Four Quakers of New Garden face trials of the heart. When Josiah Wall postpones his marriage to Ruth Payne for a second time, Ruth is reluctant to give him another chance at love. Deborah Wall is thrilled to work at a hub of the Underground Railroad, until wounded Nathaniel Fox—a bounty hunter for runaway slaves—is left to her care. Leah Wall struggles to turn a marriage of convenience into a marriage of love. Christian Jaidon Taylor pursues Quaker Catherine Wall—but she’s convinced their differences will forever keep them apart. Will these women withstand the test of love?

I had serious problems with this one, though not with the writing. I wonder why the publisher went with three historical stories and wham the fourth was contemporary? It's nice to see how the Quakers interact in today’s society but I would have liked a bigger warning, as the classification was historical only. Ok, on the to the stories.

The first novel was about politics and lessons for all. The second one was about the Underground Railroad and the third was the famous North vs South aka the Civil war in America. The third one confused me, they must have been descendants from other children of the hero in the first book but which one we will never know as they don’t mention it. Same for the fourth story, all we know is all four of the heroines are related in some way but the third and fourth aren’t clear. I wished the authors could of communicated and worked out the family connections. 3.5 half stars.
