Storms and Stars by Neena Jaydon

Summary:
It's lonely at the top for Commander Villam Elding, who has always ranked loyalty to the empire and career ambition over romance. He finds it easier to love ideas than people; without military life, he's lost. Even so, it's his close relationship with Kardiell, a popular officer, that tears him from his life. Those with competing ambitions try to take Villam hostage to leverage Kardiell's soft spot for him. In the struggle, Villam crashes the small spacecraft he's riding. All hands perish except he and Luke, his kidnapper.

Luke Sicinik travels the galaxy performing dirty missions for money to send home. Born on a desert colony abandoned by the empire, he has no love for imperial soldiers. He spent his childhood in a monastery which taught the evils of anything impractical or sentimental. Yet when he crawls from the destroyed spacecraft, his first instinct is compassionate: he drags Villam's unconscious body free of the wreckage. Stranded together on a wild planet, Villam and Luke know that survival means cooperation. A truce becomes trust, and trust turns to passion, as they struggle to find a new life together -- just the two of them against an entire world.

Commander Villam Elding'd first joined the crew of "The Future of Alom" as a nineteen-year-old recruit. Through the years, he loyaly served as a defender and a diplomat. Now at twenty-nine, he a newly promoted Commander in the Imperial Forces. Villam's whole childhood and young adulthood was dedicated toward the military lifestyle. He lives for her Imperial Majesty with strong dedication. Naively Villam didn't know his rising star became the envy for someone else, Commander Fulgar. Fulgar creates a plan in which he intends to get rid both of Villam and his superior officer Kardiell Eitur.

Ittuluke was hired to kidnap Villam, while he was on a transport shuttle, but the plan goes wrong. Because of a fight on the shuttle, they end up crashing on an uninhabited planet and are the only survivors. Villam knew there was no chance of rescue, his only wish was to kill Ittuluke. But to live on the an uninhabited planet alone, Villam simply couldn't bring himself to kill Ittuluke. So Villam and Ittuluke made a truce with each other. They wont hurt one another and will try to live side by side. This was harder in the beginning because they didn't trust each other. Through the story we saw how Villam and Luke really grow and developed as characters.

This story was like an a AMAZING movie. The adventure Villam and Luke lived through was absorbing and emotionally fullfilling. I could imagine everything; how they behaved around each other, how they lived from day to day. I simply loved it all. At the end, Villam declares his true love for Ittuluke, "I have a duty to you! Only you, Luke" and with this we see how deeply Villam changed.

I can truly say this is a superbly written book. A highly recommended romantic adventure. I'm giving this book 4.5 stars, and with a bow to Neena Jaydon saying "Thank You" for this book!
