Joshua Delaney and Carmine Angelo Trezini, cop and low-level mobster, should have absolutely nothing in common; yet, accidentally brought together, they rapidly became both lovers and allies against important crime figure Matthew Picano. Of course, taking down a man like that was never going to be easy – but Josh has no idea of the scale of the sacrifice he will eventually be called upon to make.

I really struggled to get through this book. The characters didn't really have any depth and the love story just seemed WAY too rushed.
Joshua Delaney is new to Chicago, but he's been a police officer for over ten years. Even though he's not a rookie, he doesn't seem to be a very good cop, considering he lets someone get the jump on him, not once, but twice, in two days! The first time, he is thrown into a walk in freezer with mobster lackey Carmine Angelo Trezini. In just a few short hours locked in the freezer together, Trezini decides he is in love with Officer Delaney, and is willing to help take down the man he works for. What follows is a bunch of really bad undercover detective work and Josh's barely there struggle to reconcile with himself the fact that he is attracted to another man.
I just felt the romance aspect in this story was sadly lacking and rushed, and the attempts to take down mobster Matt Picano silly at best. I also had a difficult time following scene changes, there were no noticeable scene breaks, causing me, more than once, to have to back up a page to see when the scene had changed. I give this one 2.5 stars.
